Summer Time: Does the rest of the Planet realize that Texas might melt off the map???

While the rest of the country is enjoying the end of their summer heat, preparing for fall and the array of beautifully colored fallen leaves…Texas is still enduring the 100+ degree temperatures! A lot of our leaves have already fallen because they have been burnt to a crisp, just like our brown, burnt grass. I realize that I have grown-up in Texas my whole life and I should be used to the fact that two months of 100 degree temperatures is normal, but this summer has been unbearable! Maybe it’s my old age ;)

Despite the fact that it is difficult to do anything in this heat, we have managed to have some really fun times this summer!
Roughriders Game!
Katie came into town and stayed with us, so we all went to a Texas Rangers game!I definitely don't get to see this girl enough!
Cool Thursdays at the Arboretum!
Band: Fast Lane (an Eagles cover band)Brandon, Rene', Blake, and I packed a picnic (aka grabbed some wine and stopped by Jimmy Johns) and headed down to the Arboretum
Blake and I at Cool Thursdays! Rene' and Brandon at Cool Thursdays! Pretty sunset over White Rock Lake!
