Happy Mother's Day!!!

I wanted to do something really special and different this year for Mother's Day instead of just the normal dinner and gift, so I planned a whole day for my Mom, Gammie, and I. We had a blast! We began with a picnic at the Arboretum overlooking White Rock Lake. I made homemade Chicken Salad Sandwiches (I stole the recipe from Corner Bakery because it is my favorite!!!), Pesto Pasta Salad, and Fresh Fruit. I finally got to use my adorable picnic basket that Mom and Dad got me for Christmas. We sat on the hill that overlooks the lake and we listened to the fabulous jazz band! It was a beautiful day and the scenery could not have been any better! After lunch, we strolled around and looked at all the beautiful flowers. They were even having a plant sale this weekend, so Mom bought herself some gorgeous full-sun Impatiens. Next, we went to Ocean Nail & Spa on Lover's Lane. It does not look like much from the outside, but it was the best pedicure we had ever had!!! We finished up the day at Sprinkles Cupcakes because I have been dying for a cupcake and I have heard that these were so good! After waiting in line behind twenty people (the place was packed!!!) we ended up with Red Velvet, Cinnamon Sugar, and Strawberry! They were sooooo good!!! We really had a great time and I feel so blessed to have spent such a wonderful day with two of the most amazing women. They are truly my inspiration!

Just a quick note to say "Happy Mother's Day" to all of my special friends and family who are such wonderful mothers. Lindsay, Blake's sister, Ashley, my cousin, and Anne, my friend and roommate from college got to spend their first Mother's Day with their precious baby girls! I am so excited that they all have become new mommies this year and that they get to share in this special day! Love you all!!!
