1 Year of Wonderful Memories Down…A Million More to Go!!!

Blake and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on July 18th! We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our first year of marriage together! This past year has been hard on both of us for many different reasons, but our relationship has truly grown so much and we are so thankful to have one another. There is nothing better than waking up next to your other half everyday and knowing that you get to walk through life with that person forever!

Our anniversary weekend began when 18 beautiful roses showed up at my desk on Friday morning! I was so surprised! My roses were so gorgeous and they smelled sooooo good!!!
Then we spent Friday evening at 560 in Reunion Tower! This is Wolf Gang Puck’s restaurant at the top of Reunion Tower (the ball) in Downtown Dallas. Blake and I had never been to this restaurant, so we were so excited to experience it together, it was truly an amazing experience. We got to the restaurant when it was still light outside, so we got a 360 view of the Dallas Skyline from 560 feet in the air in the day and night light. It was gorgeous! The food and service were wonderful and the view could not get any better!

Saturday we relaxed at the pool and reminisced all day about what we were doing at that exact time a year ago. It was a really fun experience to hear Blake’s memories of the day and for us to just lie around and laugh about all the fun we had on our wedding day!

Sunday (our actual anniversary day) we again relaxed by the pool and then Blake cooked my favorite meal for me for dinner. We finished up the anniversary with the infamous 1 year old wedding cake (it was surprisingly good) and a special toast to a million more wonderful memories together!

A Little Bit of Heaven...

Happy 4th!

Blake and I spent the 4th of July weekend in Wimberley, TX (one of our favorite places) with Gammie, Mom, Jason, and Calvin (Jason’s friend). We had such a great time and we got really lucky because the weather was gorgeous!

We arrived Friday night and ordered pizza. Saturday, Blake, Mom, Jason, Calvin, and I floated the Comal River. It was really high and flowing pretty quickly because of all of the rain we have had in Texas lately, so we ended up floating the whole thing twice! It was so much fun! We finished up the day at Inoz, an outside restaurant on the river, with live music! Sunday, 4th of July, Mom, Gammie, and I went shopping in Wimberley Square. The shops are small, quaint, and unique! We also sampled wine in one of the stores and bought a really nice bottle of Pomegranate Red Wine! It was so yummy! I even found a couple of Christmas gifts, I love when I find Christmas gifts this early! After our shopping adventure, Blake, Jason, Calvin, and I went kayaking up the river and found a rope swing. The boys spent several hours acting crazy and swinging off the bank, and I even got adventurous for a while and joined in on the fun! Sunday evening, the boys grilled hamburger and hot dogs on the patio. We finished up the wonderful, relaxing weekend watching the neighbors shoot off fireworks over the water. The fireworks were so great; it was like a competition between the East side and the West side of the river. It looked like a professional fireworks show!!!

I always LOVE going to the river! It is so peaceful to just be lounging around in the beautiful water with the trees and hills surrounding you.

Defying Gravity...

In 2006, Jene’, Ms. Dale, Mom, and I went to New York City together for Spring Break and saw Mamma Mia, ever since then we have been going to a Broadway show in Dallas every now and then. June 23rd, we all went to Fair Park to see Wicked! It was fabulous!

We started out the evening at the Pre-Show Buffet, with all sorts of different salads, entrees, and desserts! It was great! We all had not gotten together in a month, so it was really nice to sit down, have dinner, and chat before the show!

The show was fabulous! The performers, set, and costumes were amazing! Glenda and Elphaba were great together and the visual effects really made the show!
